Izzy Covington, LMSW, is a warm, collaborative, and experiential therapist who believes healing happens when people feel safe enough to show up as their full selves. They especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent teens and adults, as well as individuals navigating trauma, identity exploration, life transitions, relationship concerns, and the lasting effects of difficult experiences.
Izzy takes a trauma-informed, person-centered, and eclectic approach to therapy, meeting each person where they are rather than expecting them to fit into a one-size-fits-all model of care. Their work draws from evidence-based approaches including DBT, ACT, parts work, and other trauma-informed interventions, while incorporating experiential methods such as sandtray to help clients explore experiences that may be difficult to put into words.
At the heart of Izzy’s work is the belief that clients are the experts on their own lives. They strive to create an affirming, compassionate, and genuine space where clients can better understand themselves, reconnect with their strengths, and develop tools that actually fit their lives. Whether therapy involves processing trauma, exploring identity, learning new ways to cope, or simply having a place to be fully seen and understood, Izzy works alongside clients with curiosity, humor, and compassion.
