This Privacy Policy explains how Holistic Wellness & Psychiatry, PLLC (“we,” “us”) collects and uses information through this website, holisticwellness.clinic, and through our patient text messages. We are a psychiatry and therapy practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
If you are a patient, the health information we keep about your care is protected by HIPAA and described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you can request from our office at any time. If this policy and our Notice of Privacy Practices differ for your health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices applies.

Text message (SMS) privacy
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We use your mobile number only to send the messages you agreed to receive, such as appointment reminders, confirmations and scheduling updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for help. Full details are in our SMS Terms and Conditions.
Information we collect
- Contact form. If you send us a message through the website, we receive what you enter, such as your name, email, phone number, insurance and message. Please keep health details brief; we will follow up by phone or through our secure patient portal.
- Online booking. Appointment booking on this site is provided by IntakeQ (PracticeQ), our scheduling and records system. Information you enter when you book or complete intake forms goes to IntakeQ on our behalf and is protected as health information.
- Phone calls. When you call us, our phone provider handles the call.
- Text messages. If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we keep your number, your consent and your opt-out choices. See “Text message (SMS) privacy” above.
- Automatic information. Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools that collect technical information such as your browser, device, IP address and the pages you visit.
How we use information
- To answer your questions and schedule appointments.
- To send appointment reminders, confirmations and other messages about your care, including by text if you opted in.
- To run, secure and improve this website.
- To understand how people find us, including whether our online ads lead to appointments.
- To meet legal and professional obligations.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our general website pages use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and advertising tags from Google and Meta (Facebook) to measure and improve our ads. These tools may set cookies and receive technical information about your visit.
On the appointment pages we use for Google Ads, we do not use Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel. A Google Ads tag on those pages records only that an appointment was booked, with no name, contact details or health information, and ad personalization is turned off on those pages.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings and in your Facebook ad preferences.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that work for us, such as our website host, IntakeQ (scheduling, records and patient messaging), our phone and text messaging providers, and Google, only as needed to provide their services.
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
- With your permission.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties, as described above.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No website or email is completely secure, so please do not send detailed health information through the contact form or by regular email. We keep information as long as needed for the purposes above and as required by law.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online.
Your choices
You can ask us to update or correct your contact information, stop texts by replying STOP, or ask questions about this policy using the contact details below.
Changes to this policy
